    A weekend in Tuscany

Of all the places on our Italy itinerary, I was for sure most excited about Tuscany. I’ve always dreamed of visiting the region, sipping on wine and enjoying fresh olive oil while overlooking the rolling hills. Well Italy did not disappoint! Tuscany was even more beautiful in person than in the movies. Here are a few of our favorite stops in the region. We spent most of our time in Greve in Chianti to experience the smaller towns of Tuscany. We also opted to visit lesser known wineries in hopes for more low key and intimate experiences. Vignamaggio – Thought to be the childhood home of Mona Lisa (yes, THE…

    A Trip Around Ireland

I think I’ve mentioned before that when we travel we like to see EVERYTHING, or at least as much as possible in the time we have there. It’s never a trip for the faint of heart. To celebrate my dad’s 50th birthday we decided to take on Ireland along with my mom, dad, and sister. I was tasked with making an itinerary that had us visit the Cliffs of Moher, the Dingle Peninsula, Dublin, and Belfast. Somehow we managed to see everything on our list! Here is an overview of our 10 day trip or skip to the bottom for a shorter daily itinerary. Flights: We opted to fly into Dublin…

The Best of New York City (Tourist Edition

In most of my travels I like to experience the city like a local as much as possible, but when in NYC why not go all-out tourist. My mom, grandmother, sister and I, along with my grandfather (bless him!) went on an all-out tourist trip to NYC in April, and boy did we love it. I’m excited to share with you some of my can’t miss things to do! Eat: Street Food: Some of the best food in the city is served out of a cart on the street corner. Nathan’s hot dogs are iconic and Halal Guys (as the name implies) serves amazing halal. Tavern on the Green: In…

Top 5 Things to do in Venice

Wandering through the streets of Venice there is no question that it is somewhere special. The narrow walkways winding through the buildings following the canals are always bustling with people. This is a city made for getting lost (in a good way). The best things about Venice are the little places you stumble upon when you let yourself wander. These are the top 5 things you MUST make time for in Venice: Visit Burano. I know it seems silly to leave the Venice if you are only there for a short time, but Burano is worth it. Burano is a tiny colorful village where the locals are known for making…

    Cancun – Hyatt Zilara

I love the beach. The sound of the ocean, the sun on my face, everything about the beach is my happy place. Growing up in Texas Cancun was a fairly common place for family friends to vacation so it has always been on my list of places to visit. John and I decided to take a long weekend in Cancun as a mini second honeymoon. We used points to stay at the Hyatt Zilara, an all-inclusive adults only property. It is my favorite all-inclusive hotel and I always recommend it to any friends traveling to Cancun. The Room: The rooms were amazing. Every room here is a suite with a…

    24 hours in St. Louis

St. Louis is one of the many cities on our list to visit because of their baseball team. My husband, John, and I are making the rounds to every city with an MLB team. Lucky fr us, we were invited to a wedding in Effingham, Illinois which gave us the perfect excuse to fly into St. Louis. We flew in late on a Thursday to have a full day in St. Louis before the wedding festivities started on Saturday. Here are our top todo’s in St. Louis! Food: Soulard Coffee Garden & Cafe: A great cafe to fuel up for a long day of sight seeing. I opted for a bacon,…
